At the majestic Acapulco, Mexico, a new Expo Canitec started this past Wednesday as the country's main pay TV event.

The evening started in the afternoon with the arrival of the Mexican president, Felipe Calderón, who revolutionized the venue with his impressive security team.

Calderón welcomed over 700 people at an exclusive lunch, where the president of Canitec, Alejandro Puente, and the State Governor were also present.

Following the lunch, Calderón checked in with a virtual receptionist from Cisco, officially inaugurating the event.

Following this departure, Canitec opened its doors, displaying its 5,400mt2 and the best the pay TV industry has to offer.

In addition to the 112 exhibitors, the organization expects the presence of at least 4,000 attendees.

After 7:00 PM, the exposition closed its doors, though the evening carried on later that evening with Televisa's traditional party.

The event's second day is expected to be busier, with activities starting early in the morning.
