Ulrich Wartmann: "We Want to Promote our Channels' Regionalization"
 
During the last NATPE Budapest, German network Deutsche Welle presented its catalog and announced a local production deal with Hungarian public television, which is now added to the 70 broacasters it works with across the world.

Deutsche Welle presented several new projects at the past NATPE Budapest. First of all, it showcased its three new productions: Ecopia, a documentary on intelligent building and sustainable living; Assignment X, a science series with different adventure expeditions; and By the River, by the Water, a new travel series that presents the world's main rivers.

In addition, Ulrich Wartmann, DW's head of distribution, Europe, highlighted the February premiere of its new magazine World Stories, created through contributions from DW's partners across the globe.

The executive also spoke about a new local production deal the company signed in Turkey-: "I'm proud to announce we signed a deal with Hungarian public television, MTVA, which will also contribute to the magazine starting July," he said.

According to the executive, the re-launch of DW's programming in February was meant to promote its network's regionalization, a strategy which was complimented by the launch of new international feeds, with one in Latin America.
