With a satellite that covers the entire region, a strong presence in all the main markets and a state of the art system; TuVes HD continues to take over Latin America.

"For a while now, TuVes has been growing consistently on a regional level, mainly due to the satellite TV service we offer which reaches all of Latin America," José Esteban Sáez, business director, said to ttv.

"We offer a wholesale service to companies interested in rolling out satellite TV services in their countries. We can give them a platform and are a perfect compliment for cable operators; as well as a new product to provide play for telcos that already have internet and telephony, yet lack TV," he said.

The service is already available in Chile, Paraguay, Peru and Bolivia under the TuVes HD brand. The company also continues to grow as a wholesaler in other territories such as the recently added Venezuela, and plans to expand to other regions such as Ecuador, Colombia, Panama, Argentina and Uruguay.

"Sometimes, in certain countries it's very complicated to get a license, so we provide it ourselves together with the service, which is part of our benefits. In other places licensing is managed by others and we simply partner with them," he explained.

One of TuVes' main advantages, according to the executive, is how its system adapts to today's ongoing piracy problem.

"From a technological point of view, we are implementing a very solid encryption system. The smartcard has three layers. This means it's three-in-one. If for some reason one of them was compromised, they'd have to go through the second and then the third one. In addition, the system changes the encryption codes regularly. In 20 minutes, the code gets changed and if someone managed to decipher it, it would have access to the service for only 20 minutes," he said.

Lastly, the executive highlighted the channel offer TuVes HD currently provides, with over 100 channels and a strong HD package.

"We are adding a large number of new networks with the arrival of our service in Venezuela, which helped us compliment our lineup much more. We are also upgrading more channels to HD, as well as adding high-rated SD channels," he concluded.
