Through this alliance, SOMOS Productions -Luis Villanueva's company- and MAZDOC - renowned Colombian documentary producer, owned by Mauricio Acosta- have joined forces to produce and distribute a series of new docu-realities.

Luis Villanueva, president and CEO at SOMOS Productions stated "we think this alliance is very positive, since it combines MAZDOC's experience in the documentary genre, with our vision of the entertainment and format industry, which results in a more appealing product. The genre has brought back the documentary and that has an effect on broadcast and niche networks," he said.

"The alliance benefits greatly from SOMOS Distribution, which manages the commercial aspects with its relationships with other partners. I've known Mauricio Acosta for many years and he's a pleasure to work with," he said.

Mauricio Acosta, executive director at MAZDOC; stated "the alliance is a major step in consolidating MAZDOC as a major documentary and non-fiction format producer in Latin America, looking towards the US and Europe. In addition, it confirms our commitment to produce unique content in Latin America that's attractive and appealing for the entire world. Working with Luis Villanueva, one of TV's pioneers in Latin America, and his team, is an honor and it's great for our clients as we'll provide innovative content," he said. The partnership will present several projects at the LA Screenings.
