The Basketeers Re-commissioned for Second Season
 
Zodiak Kids' Tele Images Productions announced the re-commission of The Basketeers for a second season, in addition to a new raft of European TV sales for the series.

Tele Images Productions -part of Zodiak Kids, Zodiak Media's children production and distribution arm- announced a second season for the animated series The Basketeers. M6 and Disney XD France have commissioned 26 news episodes bringing the series -coproduced with I Can Fly- to a total number of 52x26' episodes. Production will kick off in September 2012 with a delivery starting fall 2013. 

This new order follows the success of the first season on Disney XD and M6. In addition, Tele Images Productions and M6 Interactions are pleased to announce that Turbocar will launch a range of car and bicycle accessories aimed at children.

Philippe Alessandri, President of Tele Images Productions said: "The Basketeers' success is a credit to the entire team and we are very much looking forward to starting to work on the second season. All Tele Images series' have been commissioned for a second season or more and we are very proud to see The Basketeers follow the same path.

Meanhwile, Morgann Favennec, Head of Children's Programming M6, stated: "M6 is delighted and proud to team up with Tele Images for a second season of The Basketeers. This illustrates that original programming truly has a place on our channel."

As part of the series' success, Zodiak Kids has recently concluded a raft of TV sales for series one of The Basketeers including ZDF for the German Public channel KiKA (Kinderkanal), Canal Panda (Portugal), Canal+ (Poland), Pop TV (Pro Plus) in Slovenia and RTS (Switzerland) who has acquired both seasons.

The second season of The Basketeers will see the team of five teenage boys and girls, led by NBA All-Star Tony Parker, play the international street basketball tournament in various countries all over the world against teams that are tougher than ever. Created by Sylvain Dos Santos, this new season will be directed by Bruno Bligoux (Street Football, The Basketeers season 1).

Zodiak Rights owns worldwide distribution rights to The Basketeers, while the licensing rights are held by M6 Interactions
