Corus Entertainment and Thunderbird Films announced Disney XD acquired the second season of TV series Mr. Young in the US, following the first season's success.

The series, filmed in Vancouver (Canada) in front of a live studio audience, stars Brendan Meyer as Adam Young, a child prodigy who, after going to university at the age of 9, graduates at age 14 and lands himself a job as a high school science teacher instructing students his own age.

The second season will include 26 new episodes and will premiere in the summer.

"We are delighted that Disney XD and its US audiences have embraced Mr. Young and are now poised to enjoy another season of this breakout comedic hit," said Jerry Diaz, VP, worldwide sales, Nelvana Enterprises.

"The second season of Mr. Young has exceeded all expectations," said Michael Shepard, President of Thunderbird Films. "Our enormously talented ensemble cast continues to expand their characters, effortlessly keeping pace with the inspired comedy created by Dan Signer and his writing team."

The series is produced by Thunderbird Films in association with Corus' YTV. Nelvana Enterprises distributes it internationally, while its US distribution is jointly managed with Thunderbird.
