At this year's Expo Canitec in Acapulco, Mexico, Media Networks presented its latest innovation: Go Digital; which provides an ideal solution to broadcasters that want to make the transition to digital technologies.

Oscar Castillo, Wholesale Manager North at the company, spoke to ttv and explained the product is an "accelerator" for pay TV cable telecommunication companies.

"The industry's growth is happening extremely fast, and companies which don't offer digital services these days can become digital networks with our product and platforms," said Castillo.

"We have high expectations for our service and hope we can show potential buyers what Go Digital is capable of, mainly providing a short-term service with benefits to help them grow in this market," he said.

According to the executive, what sets Go Digital apart is the fact it provides cable operators with access to the synergies and scale economies Media Networks offers through its satellite networks.

"From there, we can bring them to our clients' headsets, which are currently analog and which they would have to pay to make digital if they did it on their own. With us, that investment is reduced to a minimum and the transition to digital is fast. They'll be able to offer HD and OTT services and all in all become highly competitive cable operators if they make the transition," he said.

"Today's market is definitely growing fast, and the way cable operators can compete against those which already offer OTT and HD services is to go digital. With our platform they can access that content, they can access a lineup of programming and even OTT services which currently they can't offer," he explained.

In addition to Go Digital, the company does business in other areas such as DTH television, online digital services and its recently launched channel, Yups.

"Satellite internet is a service we are also developing to offer to companies and operators. It’s a high-speed internet service provided through our platform in KU band and soon, KA band. It's a service that will compete in quality, speed and price, against traditional broadband services," he concluded.
