|
Under NATPE's organization for the first time, the Eastern European market included over 430 buyers and 200 content providing companies.

Despite not starting on the right foot, with a decrease in the number of attendees; NATPE Budapest closed its doors on Thursday on a high note, with new attendees and important meetings.
According to the organization's numbers, 430 buyers and over 200 content providing companies were present at the Sofitel Hotel for the three-day event.
While the number of attendees was down, there were lots of new faces present, mainly from Asia, India and the UK. From Spain, Latin America and France on the other hand, attendance was lower.

One of the main reasons behind this decrease, as well as one of the most discussed topics in the event, was the Screenings organized outside the venue by majors.
"It's been a pleasure to welcome representatives from so many international companies to conduct business in Budapest," said NATPE's new CEO, Rod Perth.
"With the decreased number of new productions due to budget cutbacks, and the distribution of digital content and online platforms; high-quality programming is increasingly more important and demanded across the globe. My goal now is for this relevant market to be more valued by attendees in the upcoming years," he said.
Next year, the event will take place on June 26-28, while NATPE Miami will be held on January 28-30, 2013; to celebrate the organization's 50th anniversary.
