Javier Recio, a Colombian engineer formerly employed at Intelsat, has been appointed as Satélites Mexicanos' new VP of Sales. Recio has experience in several areas including engineering, operations, sales management and project development.

Javier Recio started working at Americatel Corporation, later joining PanAmSat Corporation in Miami. After PanAmSat was acquired by Intelsat, he served several roles within the company's sales department, mostly tending to clients in northern Latin America. In 2006 he was appointed sales director for Latin America.
Patricio Northland, executive director at Satmex, said: "We trust in the skills and experience that Javier brings to our team and in the many benefits that he can offer our current and future clients. Javier's ample experience is also an advantage for Satmex as we expand our fleet with the launch of SatMex 8 in the near future and position the company toward future growth in the American continent."
