It's loosely based on the book La Parábola de Pablo, with a great deal of fiction, several journalistic documents and real testimonies. It was shot entirely in outside locations; 450 of them.
"Most of us who suffered because of terrorism back in the 1980s and early 90s are lucky to be alive. In my case, he kidnapped my mom (Maruja Pachón) and murdered my uncle (presidential candidate Luis Carlos Galán); and in Camilo Cano's case, he murdered his father Guillermo, director of El Espectador newspaper, and placed a bomb which destroyed the newspaper's headquarters," said Juana Uribe, VP at Caracol Television. She also stated the story is told with a deep respect for his victims and those who fought against him. "We want to share this story the right way," she said.
