Netflix intends to produce more content.

Netflix continues to grow. Following Lillyhamer's exclusive premiere, the announcement that Arrested Development will have a fourth season, and the imminent premiere of its first original production House of Cards; the company is about to sign a deal to produce a new series.
The news was announced by Bloomberg, which quoted a "person with knowledge of the situation" and stated that Netflix will produce 13 episodes of Orange Is The New Black, the latest by Jenji Kohan, the creator of Weeds.
The comedy series is based on Piper Kerman's memoir, who was found guilty of drug trafficking and sentenced to jail in a women's prison.
"That's speculation and we don't comment on speculation," said Steve Swasey in reference to the report.
Despite the fact that there's still no official confirmation, the news does reveal Netflix's intentions to produce more original content, with HBO as its main competitor.
Netflix strategy includes have twice -even three times- as many clients as HBO does, which already has 30 million subscribers. In order to make this happen, licensing agreements, adding more content and producing original programming are all necessary.
One of Netflix's main goals is to have five exclusive shows by 2013. Three of them are already popular: Arrested Development, House of Cards and Lilyhammer. The question is, which will be the other two? One of them has apparently already been revealed.
