Apple continues to share good news. The company reported Tuesday that its profits during its fiscal second quarter reached the US$11.6 billion mark, due to US$ 39.2 billion in sales.

The numbers are certainly impressive. According to the company's statement, 35.1 million iPhones were sold during that time, in addition to 12 million iPads, 4 million Mac computers and 7.7 million iPods.

These results are even more promising taking into account the fact that a year ago, the company reported US$ 6 billion profit.

"It's mind-boggling that we could do this well," said CEO Tim Cook, during a conference call with analysts.
